HDShare TechnologyHDShare is based on UnisonPlay’s UniFS technology. UniFS is the only fully distributed, server-less network that allows streaming of high definition video. The HDShare supports all video formats, lengths, and quality. UnisonPlay’s patented algorithms break file into fragments and manage files fragments availability in a completely distributed structure. A self healing mechanism ensures streaming of content, even under the most severe conditions of network bottlenecks and sources availability. Streaming optimization is focused on the last mile, the closest point to the edge of the network, where various streams from different sources are groomed together. Last mile bandwidth optimization enables HDShare to deliver quality levels unattainable by legacy content delivery technologies. Interaction between users is being done over videos Ticket file, rather than the video files. Ticket files are 2MB files representing each video on the network, allowing click-2--play on each Ticket to view the full video in its original quality. ArchitectureThe system consists of a user clients and a Management Module. User client either plays videos from external video streaming sites or from the client’s overlay network, depending on the video type and source. Clients also combine bit streams from external video source directly with streams from the external sources, through other peers in the overlay network. The management module can accommodate also “virtual peers” that are regular user peers controlled by network operator. These peers are optional and can be used to pre-seed popular content on the overlay network for quick jump-start. The Management Module is capable of maintaining different users’ categories, where assigning different management policies for different users segments optimizes usage of the network.
